Company Honored for Outstanding Achievements in Aviation, Aerospace & Defense, will be recognized on March 1, 2018 in Washington, DC

Sandpoint, Idaho, November 20th, 2017

Tamarack Aerospace Group announced today that it has been selected by Aviation Week & Space Technology as a winner of the 61st Annual Laureate Awards, honoring extraordinary achievements in the global aerospace arena. The Tamarack team will receive the award at an event to be held March 1st, 2018 in Washington, DC. The panel of judges recognized Tamarack for developing the first drag-reducing winglet system that incorporates active load alleviation, allowing winglets to be installed without having to reinforce the original wing structure. ATLAS ® Active Winglets are available as upgrades on the Cessna C525 series which includes the CJ, CJ1, CJ1+ and M2 business aircraft. Certifications on the CJ2/CJ2+ and CJ3/3+ are projected for early next year.

“Tamarack Aerospace Group and all of the winners were selected by Aviation Week Network editors who reviewed dozens of nominations, embody the spirit of exploration, innovation and vision that will inspire others to strive for broad-reaching progress in aviation, aerospace and defense,” said Aviation Week & Space Technology Editor-in-Chief Joseph C. Anselmo. “We look forward to honoring them all, and announcing the Grand Laureates on March 1.” “This is just an unbelievable honor” said Nick Guida, Founder and CEO of Tamarack Aerospace. “For the Tamarack team to receive such prestigious recognition of its hard work and innovation in bringing Active Winglets to market is remarkable. We are very grateful to the Aviation Week panel of judges for acknowledging our persistence and dedication. It is equally rewarding to see an increased industry awareness of Tamarack’s capabilities and of the other disruptive patented technologies that we are developing, such as our Commercial Active Winglet.”

The award categories are Business Aviation, Commercial, Defense and Space. In addition, Aviation Week & Space Technology will bestow two Philip J. Klass Awards for Lifetime Achievement. Four cadets and midshipmen from U.S. military academies will be recognized as Tomorrow’s Leaders, honoring young men and women who have chosen career paths in the armed forces.

Tamarack Active Winglets are the only aerodynamic technology on the market today that can reduce time to climb and fuel burn, while increasing range and aircraft stability, without any structural reinforcement, yielding significant time and cost savings. Tamarack Active Winglets are approved via EASA, Transport Canada, ANAC and FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for installation on the Cessna CJ, CJ1, CJ1+ and M2 business jets. Certifications pending on the CJ2/CJ2+ and CJ3/3+ are projected for early next year.

About Tamarack Aerospace:

Idaho based Tamarack Aerospace Group Inc. invented and patented the revolutionary Active Winglet system. Tamarack’s certified Active Winglets are three to four times more efficient than passive (traditional) winglets. The Active Winglet system typically provides a reduction in fuel burn, performance gains and increased asset value. The Active Winglet system is comprised of a wing tip extension, a highly tuned winglet, and load alleviation technology. The load alleviation system counteracts gust or maneuver wing loading events and eliminates the heavy wing reinforcement and structural additions required by all passive winglets.
