As an Engineering Technician with Tamarack Aerospace Group you can expect to provide hands on support to the engineering group with the design, fabrication, and testing activities required for R&D and certification testing.

ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Job Description: 

  • Collaborate with a small team of engineers and designers to fabricate electro-mechanical prototypes, test equipment and fixtures for research and development
  • Install and operate data acquisition equipment and instrumentation for ground and flight tests
  • Conduct engineering tests and document results
  • Operate and maintain shop equipment such as mills, lathes, CNC, 3D printers, welders, soldering irons, etc.
  • Organize and maintain instrumentation and shop tools
  • Be able to interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics
  • Participate in engineering design reviews
  • Coordinate with the engineering, manufacturing, production, and quality disciplines
  • Prototype concepts for design reviews

Specific tasks include:

  • Operate shop machinery and hand tools
  • Utilize engineering tools such as calipers, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, lap power supplies.
  • Set up, execute, and document results from engineering testing
  • Fabricate metallic and composite structures
  • Assemble wiring harnesses, bread boards or PCBs from electrical schematics and BOM
  • Fabricate and assemble test fixtures and equipment
  • Install strain gages, load cells, thermocouples and string pots/LVDTs
  • Organize and maintain tools and equipment
  • Generate 3D CAD models
  • Generate machine code for CNC manufacturing

Qualifications: 

  • 2 years of CAD or CAM experience, preferably SolidWorks
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Interest in electronics and or programming
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills and must function well within a multi-disciplinary team
  • High proficiency with Microsoft office suite

Education & Experience: 

A.S. in Engineering Technology, CAD, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of 2 years of CAD/CAM experience

Minimum of 2 years of prototyping or manufacturing experience
