ENGINEERING PROGRAM MANAGER

The Engineering Program Manager will plan, direct and coordinate activities of projects to ensure that the goals and objectives of each project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. The candidate should be well versed in project management methodologies and should be adept at creating project charters, scoping, setting project milestones and cadence, and tracking project execution against goals. In addition the candidate should have great attention to detail, and be strong at stakeholder communications and change management in driving projects forward.

Job Description: 

  • Direct and coordinate resources throughout engineering program functions and conduct regular program reviews to make sure that program development and key performance indicators stay on track.
  • Provide technical direction in engineering design and certification activities.
  • Manage design and certification cycle, including hosting meetings such as PDR, CDR, PTBM, etc.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and develop contingency plans.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to establish performance, schedule, cost and quality objectives for internal teams and external partners
  • Risk management to identify, quantify and develop action plans to minimize/eliminate impacts. Escalate risk to stakeholders in timely fashion
  • Monitor scheduled and actual hours worked for assigned staff and any persons working on your assigned program(s).
  • Present oral and written reports defining plans, problems, and resolutions to appropriate levels of management.

Qualifications: 

  • 7+ year experience in aerospace industry
  • Must be familiar with FAA or EASA Part 23 and Part 25 certification requirements.
  • High proficiency with MS Project is required.
  • High proficiency with the aerospace industry & engineering principles aircraft structure, flight test, and systems is required.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and must function well within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • High proficiency in MS Project, Word and Excel is required.
  • Valid passport & willingness to travel is required

Education & Experience: 

B.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering required
